Alcorn State University (ASU) has announced the names of the prospective undergraduate and graduate students who will participate in this year’s commencement exercise. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the cancellation of the Spring 2020 exercise, the graduates who were scheduled to graduate and the Golden Class of 1970 will graduate on Saturday, November 21st at 10:00 am at Jack Spinks-Marino Casem Stadium.
The Fall 2020 commencement will also be located at Spinks-Casem Stadium and will begin at 2:00 pm. The Spring 2020 graduation will have 104 undergraduates and 14 graduates while the Fall 2020 graduation will consist of 144 undergraduates and 26 graduates.
Alumnus Bonner Upshaw III will be the keynote speaker for both exercises. Upshaw III is the CEO and Co-founder of Trion Solutions, Inc. which is among the nation’s largest Professional Employer Organizations (PEOs) and is the largest minority-owned PEO in the United States.
Alcorn has also announced that masks and tickets will be mandatory for everyone entering the stadium.
