U.S. News and World Report has released its annual 2025-2026 rankings of the country’s best colleges and universities, and Alcorn State University (ASU) has been recognized as one of the elite.
The rankings consist of a plethora of indicators which gives each university their position on the list. Alcorn is ranked #45 in Regional Universities in the South (Up 6 points).
The accolades don’t stop there as ASU is ranked #29 amongst all Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) (Up 2 points), #21 in Top Public Schools in the Regional South (Up 1 point), and #36 of Top Performers on Social Mobility (Up 11 points). The rankings reflect improvements on all four categories where ASU was evaluated.
An innovative project worth mentioning is Alcorn’s completion on the state-of-the-art School of Business’s Rudolph E. Waters’ Classroom Building which is 38,000 square feet.
