Alcorn State University’s very own T.R.E.N.D. Modeling Squad held their last modeling show for the 2018 Spring semester on April 17th, in the Gold Room on the second floor at the Dr. Clinton Bristow Jr. Dining Facility at 7:30 pm. The title of the show was called “A Trending Affair”. T.R.E.N.D. is an acronym which stands for Truly Recognizing and Embracing Natural Differences.
Throughout the show models of all shapes, sizes and genders displayed a numerous number of unique custom fashion pieces. Models Keturah M. and Alexia S. displayed marvelous handmade headdresses constructed of pearls and chains.
While focusing on bringing out the style of each individual model, T.R.E.N.D. never neglected to put on a show. Current T.R.E.N.D. President, Raymond Banks, incorporated a confetti cannon during one of his scenes which drew appreciative applause from the crowd of onlookers.
Even with the theatrics of the confetti cannon, the excitement did not cease there. Jackson State University’s very own “Insatiable” Modeling Squad graced Alcorn State University’s Gold Room with their Tiger pride.
In honor of the graduating T.R.E.N.D. models, Banks purchased purple chords for the Seniors to wear at their upcoming graduation in May. Current T.R.E.N.D. runway coach, Austin K. Pope, will be taking over Bank’s position as president for the upcoming Fall/Spring semester 2018-2019. “I’m excited to see what’s next for T.R.E.N.D. Raymond did an excellent job. We can only go up from here,” said Pope.
