Actor’s Spotlight: Gal Gadot

Gal Gadot was born on April 30, 1985 and raised in Tel Aviv, Israel. She grew up in the city of Rosh HaAyin. Michael Gadot, her father, is an engineer and Irit Gadot, her mother, is a Physical Education teacher. She was raised with her younger sister, Dana Gadot. Gadot is of Ashkenazi Jewish descent, consisting of Polish-Jewish, Austrian-Jewish, German-Jewish, and Czech-Jewish. She graduated from Begin High School and at the age of 18 she entered and won the title of Miss Israel 2004. Afterwards, she enlisted as a combat fitness instructor for the military service in the Israel Defense Forces for two years by the age of 20.

As soon as Gadot served her tours and finished modeling, she pursued a career in acting. After losing a role from a previous film, a casting director chose her for the fourth Fast and Furious film as Gisele Yashar and two more sequels in the franchise. Because of her experience from the military, she performed her own stunt work. She also appeared in other small roles such as Date Night and Knight and Day. In 2016, she gained recognition from her most prominent role in the DC Extended Universe as the super heroin, Wonder Woman. She debuted as Wonder Woman in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, and reprised the role in the ensemble film Justice League, and did solo films in Wonder Woman and Wonder Woman: 1984.

Gadot is becoming a legend in the making. With her next role starring as the iconic Cleopatra, she truly is a real-life Wonder Woman.
