THE CAMPUS CHRONICLE

Album Review: Scary Hours

“I’ll be back in 2018 to give you the summary… More Life” is the last thing we heard from Drake in March of 2017. Anxiously anticipating, desperately waiting, eagerly annoyed, are just a few parts of a speech to describe loyal fan’s feelings about Drake dropping an album, single, mixtape, EP or just anything. On January 19, 2018 “The 6GOD” answered their late night prayers by dropping a two track EP “Scary Hours” under Motown Records.

“God’s Plan” is a jingle that everyone (Drake fan or not) will have stuck in their head for the rest of 2018 which just so happens to be the first song off of the two track EP.

This faith based tittle “God’s Plan” is direct when it comes to the overall meaning of the song. Drake wants everyone to know that him being “The Greatest of All Time (GOAT)” was no one else’s but God’s plan for him.

“God’s Plan” debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and sold a total of 127,000 downloads in the week ending January 25th, all while the numbers are still rising.

Slowing down the tempo and switching up the verbal attitude is what Drake did in the last track “Diplomatic Immunity”. “Diplomatic Immunity” is just a hardcore bar influenced track where he talks about his immunity in the rap game and why he OWNS IT!

Overall, this two track EP is very bangable and receives 10/10 stars.
