Alcorn Extends Bussie’s contract

On Thursday, October 27th, Alcorn State University (ASU) announced that they had extended Head Men’s Basketball Coach Landon Bussie’s stay at ‘The Reservation’ until 2026.

Bussie, coming off of a tremendous 2021-2022 season, is the current Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Coach of the Year. His team finished the season with a 17-17 record (14-4 in SWAC), captured the regular season title and was invited to the National Invitation Tournament (NIT) where they unfortunately lost to the Texas A&M Aggies.

Bussie has an extensive coaching career where he has made stops at Prairie View A&M University and Xavier University in Louisiana where he led his team to 3 Gulf Coast Athletic Conference regular season titles.

“This shows the commitment that the University has shown to myself and the Men’s Basketball team. I’m excited about where we’re going and I’m happy to be a Brave,” said Landon.
