State Representative from Mississippi, Gregory L. Holloway Sr., has been announced as the guest speaker for Alcorn State University’s (ASU) Spring 2025 commencement.
Holloway earned his Bachelor’s degree from Alcorn in Political Science and a Master’s degree in Public Policy from Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi. He is a member of the Masons, The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated. While serving in the Mississippi House for over 20 years, Holloway became a member of several committees which include the Ways and Means, Public Property, Rules, Agriculture, Universities and Colleges, and Education.
The graduation will take place on May 10th in the Davey L. Whitney HPER Complex and have two distinct ceremonies. The first will take place at 9:00 am and will represent the College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences, Graduate Studies, the School of Nursing and the Golden Class of 1975. The second graduation will take place at 1:00 pm and represent the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Business and the School of Education and Psychology.
Between the two ceremonies over 400 degrees will be conferred to graduates consisting of Associate, Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral degrees.
