Agriculture Students Participate in the 2023 Mid-Winter Conference as Ambassadors

On March 2, 2023, The Alcorn State University National Alumni Association (ASUNAA) Mid-Winter Conference (MWC) was hosted by the Carolina’s Alumni Chapter in Charlotte, North Carolina from March 2 – 5.

Two Agriculture students were selected to represent the University as 2023 MWC Alcorn Student Ambassadors (ASAs). Jordan Davis and Jacari Washington, both Senior Agriculture majors, were recommended by Dr. Dexter Wakefield, Interim Dean of the School of Agriculture and Applied Sciences.

The ASUNAA Carolina’s Chapter accommodated the students with travel and lodging to attend the Conference.

The purpose of the students participating was for the Conference to increase its level of student engagement.

The Ambassadors represented Alcorn by engaging with the Alumni Association and other local Historically Black College and University (HBCU) students. The ASAs attended workshops and other activities throughout the Conference. They also had opportunities to network with professionals and enhance their leadership skills.
