The Myrlie Evers-Williams Honors Program and the School of Business hosted a Faculty Lecture Series entitled “Financial Literacy Presentation” on April 29, 2025, at 1:00 pm in the Dr. Rudolph Waters, Sr. Classroom Building, Lecture Classroom 119. The speaker for the presentation was Dr. LaTuesday Guy who is a Professor of Business Administration at Alcorn State University (ASU).
The financial literacy lecture presentation explored financial literacy topics such as securing lower interest rates and improving credit scores to reduce stress and increasing life expectancy. The overall lecture expressed how financial knowledge plays a crucial role in both economic success and overall well-being. In today’s world, understanding how money works is not just useful, it is essential.
Dr. Guy has devoted her life to educating others about the importance of financial literacy. She is a former financial well-being and small business coach for Operation Hope, the most impactful financial literacy nonprofit in the world. She has continued her teachings as a professor at Alcorn.
