Edwards selected for 2025 HBCU Legacy Bowl

Stemarion Edwards, an Alcorn State University (ASU) Linebacker, was selected to play in the Allstate HBCU Legacy Bowl which will be held February 22, 2025 at Yulman Stadium in New Orleans, Louisiana at 3:00 pm.

The Allstate HBCU Legacy Bowl, which is presented by the Black College Football Hall of Fame, is a postseason All-Star game showcasing the best National Football League (NFL) draft-eligible football players from Historically Black Colleges and Universities. It was established by NFL legends Doug Williams and James “Shack” Harris, who both played at Grambling State University.

This game will be the 4th annual Legacy Bowl since it started in 2022. It gives great exposure to HBCU football players, especially since it’ll be broadcast live on NFL Network.

Edwards is one of the first Braves to be selected for the Bowl by having such a strong 2024 season on defense. So far, he has posted 61 tackles, 1 sack, 8 tackles for loss, 3 forced fumbles, and 1 interception.

He had a season high for tackles against the Southern University Jaguars with 14 and 12 the week before against the Grambling State University Tigers which helped him to be honored as the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Defensive Player of the Week.
