How would you rank Alcorn’s 2024 Homecoming from 1-10? Explain. (October 15, 2024)

Sophomore

Business Marketing

Gulfport, Mississippi

I would rate Alcorn’s 2024 Homecoming a 5 out of 10. It had a lot of ups and downs that sadly couldn’t be prevented. On the bright side I enjoyed myself all week. My favorite event was Club Cafe and I also really enjoyed the block party.

Sophomore

Milwaukee, Wisconsin

I would honestly rate Homecoming a 4 out of 10. The parties/events hosted on campus went from exciting to not so exciting. Last year Homecoming was a lot of fun and I was hoping for the same experience this year or better, but it never manifested itself.

Madison Hankton

Sophomore

Mathematics/Computer Science

Baton Rouge, Louisiana

I would rate Alcorn’s Homecoming a 5 out of 10. There were too many outsiders on campus which was a problem. This, in my opinion, took away from the enjoyment and the sense of family that usually makes Homecoming so special. It felt like the focus shifted from celebrating Alcorn’s community to dealing with unnecessary issues.

Makiya Lynch

Sophomore

Pre-Physical Theraphy

Meridan, Mississippi

I would rank Homecoming a 3 out of 10. The environment as a whole didn’t seem particularly student friendly which is why I ranked it as low as I did. Other than that, I did enjoy spending time with my friends and making new memories.

Tkyra Bullock

Sophomore

Biology (Pre-Nursing)

Yazoo City, Mississippi

My Homecoming experience was a 3 out of 10. There were so many things that went bad with very few ups. Last year was definitely a better experience.
