It All Falls

The awakening of a new era

signified by the leaves

orange, brown, and red

reave what was once green

Halloween creeps around the corner

as neighborhoods fill with fright

The shadow of Fall, sent to replace the colors that were far too bright

A faint sound can be heard

similar to the crackle of leaves

A smell of roasted marshmallows

hollow over the branches that fell from the trees

A new image of nature

fills the world from wall to wall

A sight of beauty, a new season

but still it all falls
