THE CAMPUS CHRONICLE

Jackson Selected as 2021 Leadership Fellow

Taea Jackson, a Chemistry major from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, has achieved yet another milestone in her collegiate career.

Before being crowned as the 94th Miss Alcorn State University 2020-2021, Jackson was selected to be a 2021 Leadership Fellow through her sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. The Leadership Fellow is a highly competitive and selective program through the sorority which undergraduates compete for internationally. The program board selects a small number of undergraduates to meet up for a three day conference where they enrich and enhance their professional and leadership skills. This year’s conference will take place virtually from March 12th-15th.

Jackson is the third straight representative from the Gamma Phi Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated at Alcorn State University to be selected as a Leadership Fellow. Jackson explained, “After realizing I was accepted I was extremely happy because after reading up on it I realized that this is not just a three day conference and that it can lead to other professional opportunities in and out of the sorority.”

With so much to be gained from being a Leadership Fellow, Jackson remains focused. She stated, “I plan to network with other sorors from undergraduate institutions from around the country and I plan to learn more about the sorority than what I do now.”
