THE CAMPUS CHRONICLE

Keep on Striving

We say we reach for the stars and that the sky is the limit. But what good is reaching if we’re standing in the same spot?  Always looking up, never paying attention to what is current, what matters now. It’s quite admirable to be dedicated to reaching your goal but what good is your success if you shut everything else out? How much more attainable would this be if we adjusted our reach?

In this age of technology, it is unethical to be uninformed. Keep up with current events, read an article or two, you’ll be surprised by how much you learn. Having an opinion is good but having an informed opinion is what sets you apart. The more you know, the more you have to work with and the more likely you are to succeed. Take advantage of the devices in your life by programming them to get you where you want to be.

Most people try to reach a goal alone but everyone needs help or at least some support. Surrounding yourself with people who are on the same path or who have been through similar journeys can only help you. Connections are like building blocks to success. They can become steps to take you higher or to uplift you. Find out what you want to do. Learn from someone who has done it or who wants to do it also.

Lastly, be the change you want to see in the world. Always do good and good will follow you. Live like the world is watching because believe it or not someone is always watching. It could be a sibling or extended relative wanting to be like you. Take on the challenge of teaching and being there for someone else. You will find that your life has more purpose that ever before.

Reach with your phone in your right hand, pull someone up with your left hand, walk around searching for the best connection and you’ll be surprised how far you make it.
