Love My Enemy

You call me black
Because that’s all you see
But the truth of the matter is
You are darker than me
Look on the inside
Deep within yourself
You’ll see your evil ways
It make you darker than anyone else
So cruel, so cold
Your heart is as black as coal
How do you sleep at night
Do you even have a soul?
So sadistic so twisted
Your evil thoughts
Are sick and demonic
Because you admire torment
That’s how you choose to be
To think of hanging
my people from a tree
And watching us burn
Makes you happy
You constantly put me down
To keep me low
You hold me down
And won’t let go
I’m sick of your mistreatment
This is wrong
Why can’t you just
Leave me alone!
Even though I don’t have the answers
Even when I don’t understand
Even when I feel like things will never change
I know it’s all in God’s hands
Every insult that was spat on me
Every time you discriminated against me
Every time you’ve done me wrong
God knows
He knows
And he cares
Even when I feel so alone
He’s there
This is my peace
I have comfort in knowing this
But the hard thing for me is
He loves you like he loves me
And I have to love you too
Even after what you put me through
And pray that one day
You too will get saved
The hardest fight
Is not fighting you
It’s fighting my bitter rage
To forgive you
It hurts so much
But I will listen to God
I won’t forget what you did
But I’ll forgive what you’ve done
It’s not an easy process
But it’s a goal I can achieve
And as I forgive you
I feel a burden being lifted off of me
Even if you are heartless
I will love you regardless
Because it is worth it
To receive peace
Yes I will listen
To the instructions of my King
No matter how hard it is
I will love my enemy
