Bad Moms is a comedic R rated film displaying three mom’s rebelling behavior against the traditional mom standard. Amy (Mila Kunis) is the sentimental, outgoing mom that is overworked and stressed with married life, Kiki (Kristen Bell) is a weird mom yet submissive wife who works up the courage to stand up to her husband and Carla (Kathryn Hahn) is the daredevil mom who doesn’t think twice about any of her actions. Together these three women unite to compete against PTA President Gwendolyn (Christina Applegate) to prove their idea that there is more to life than just being a mom.

Amy is introduced as the mother of two children and a wife that is overworked. She has to take her children to school, prepare for work and complete typical motherly tasks while going through marital problems with a cheating husband. One day while Amy is dropping her kids off at school, Gwendolyn invites her to the mandatory PTA meeting. During the meeting, Gwendolyn appoints Amy to be security at the bake sale and Amy refuses which causes much confusion but many parents are proud that someone has finally stood up to Gwendolyn. Later at a bar, Amy sits beside Carla who notices how tired she is. Kiki arrives later and Amy invites her to join them. This begins the friendship of the “Bad Moms”. The moms immediately began going on lunch, movie and dinner dates, which creates an unbreakable bond.

Since Amy’s newfound behavior has emerged, she decides to bring sugary, store bought doughnut holes to the bake sale againt Gwendolyn’s wishes. Gwendolyn becomes extremely angry and promises Amy’s life would be horrible this day forward. Because Amy isn’t in love with her husband any more, she decides to explore other options. KiKi and Carla help Amy prepare for a night out on the town that she will never forget.

Out of revenge against Amy, Gwendolyn forces the soccer coach to bench Amy’s daughter for the next game. Because Amy is fed up with Gwendolyn, this begins the rivalry of Gwendolyn vs. Amy for PTA President. Amy decides to host a party to discuss her plans as PTA President, but only one parent, besides the “Bad Moms”, attends. On the other hand, Gwendolyn’s party is packed with moms but they are bored with her awful speech about what she plans to do. After the party guest at Amy’s sends out a text to the other moms about the enormous amount of liquor and excitement at Amy’s party, all of the other moms arrive at Amy’s house. The night is made a success after Amy gives her speech and all of the moms are eager about the change to come, nevertheless, Gwendolyn is at the party and refuses to let Amy win.

Amy’s sunshine turns into rain when she receives a call from the principal stating  that a bag of drugs were found in her daughter’s locker. This news immediately spreads around the school and to the PTA moms. Election night arrives and Amy thinks all hope is gone until Kiki and Carla motivate her to give her speech at the school. Amy arrives after Gwendolyn has given her speech and grabs the mom’s attention using every obstacle she has overcame as motivation for the other mothers.

With this speech, Amy wins PTA President, gains a relationship with Gwendolyn, and transforms the lives of the PTA moms into a positive experience. Bad Moms is a fantastic, whimsical movie about overcoming insurmountable odds by persevering through them. The film receives 8 stars out of 10 stars.
