Musician’s Spotlight: Omen

Omen is a rapper and producer who hails from Chicago, Illinois. He is best known for his feature on J. Cole’s track ‘The Badness’ off of his debut mixtape. Omen is a signee of Interscope Records and J. Cole’s Dreamville Records. He released his mixtape ‘Delayed’ in 2010 which was followed up by what is said to be his best mixtape thus far ‘Afraid of Heights.’ Kendrick Lamar and none other than J. Cole are two of the most notable features on the project.

Since the release of his two mixtapes, he has appeared on the Dreamville compilation mixtape ‘Revenge of the Dreamers,’ which was released in celebration of Dreamville’s partnership with Interscope Records, where we got to hear the first track from his debut album ‘Elephant Eyes.’ Omen spent a total of three years preparing his album for its July 21, 2015 release date. He also joined J. Cole on his ‘2014 Forest Hills Drive’ tour which also featured Bas, Cozz, Pusha T, Jhene Aiko, Jerimih, YG, and Big Sean during the Spring and Summer of 2015. Omen plans to embark on his first tour for his album ‘Elephant Eyes’ which will visit cities such as Los Angeles, Boston, New York and none other than his hometown Chicago.
