Organization Spotlight: Collegiate 100

The Collegiate 100 is an auxiliary organization existing on college campuses nationwide directly related to and in turn the ideas and views of 100 Black Women of America. The impetus for the group was a mentoring program sponsored for female students by the Coalition of 100 Black Women of Houston. The original group included male and female students who provided leadership and mentoring for those who sought it.

The Collegiate 100 Women of Alcorn State University (ASU) was founded in 2019 by alumnus Janajah Ford. “The purpose behind C100 is to have a safe place for Black women at Alcorn to be themselves, be comfortable, achieve greatness, and grow through their matriculation. Seeing C100 grow as an organization and impact this campus in so many positive ways has been the best part of my undergraduate experience,” stated current president, Rayven Jones.

To be a part of this illustrious organization, members look for young women who have a vision to better themselves, do service, mentor the youth in surrounding communities, and who will empower other women. The GPA requirement is a 2.75 and all classifications are welcomed. Applications become available every August.
