Real Talk is a new talk show which promises to be informative, enlightening, and entertaining. The  show will push the envelope with current topics that are affecting the viewer’s everyday lives.

The show’s hosts are Amar Weir, a Senior Business Administration major from Houston, Texas and Lindsey Rushing, a Junior Criminal Justice/Political Science double major from Port Gibson, Mississippi. The two met over a year ago in the Dr. Clinton Bristow Jr. Dining Facility on Alcorn State University’s campus and immediately had a connection. After discovering their commonalities, the two decided that their voices needed to be heard by the masses which lead to the creation of Real Talk which will be produced by Weir’s production company, Amar Weir’s Productions.

The two drew their inspiration for the show from such shows as The Real, The Talk, and Red Table Talk. Rushing stated, “We wanted our stories to be real, so we figured why not have a real talk show.” The show will discuss politics, relationships, religion, school, and the pandemic. Every episode will have a special guest such as students, political and administrative individuals from Alcorn as well as other campuses. The duo wants to give people the opportunity to be guests on the show and to comfortably express their feelings on certain topics. “A lot of people don’t have that privilege or that option to express how they really feel. We want everybody to be open and say what they want to say,” stated Weir. The two are determined to get the show onto Black Entertainment Television (BET) and other major platforms such as a nationally syndicated radio show.

The first one hour episode will air on Tuesday, October 6th at 2:00 pm (Central Standard Time) on Facebook and YouTube. They will air a new episode every Tuesday and Thursday. The show will have 14 episodes per season. If you would like to be a guest on the show please contact them on their social media sites:
