THE CAMPUS CHRONICLE

Spotlight of the Week: Aaron Winters

Famed Photojournalist Eve Arnold stated, “It is the photographer, not the camera, that is the instrument.”  This week’s spotlight would like to focus on 20-year-old Aaron Winters. Winters was born March 25th in Byram, Mississippi. He is currently a Junior at Alcorn State University pursuing a degree in Biochemistry/Pre-Dentistry.

“I capture moments in real time and preserve them in such a way that people will be able to cherish them forever,” says Winters describing his amazing talent for photography. His curiosity for capturing beauty began to grow two years ago, so he invested in a camera in November of 2016 and begin studying other photographer’s shots and wanted to recreate something similar.

One day he hopes to be able to incorporate his love of photography into his dental practice. The advice that Winters would give to anyone pursuing a career in the photography field is to network with other creative types and try to absorb as much knowledge from them as you can because it really helps to hone your craft as a photographer. He is thankful for the consistent reassurance that he receives from a host of his supporters. If you would like to schedule a photo shoot with Mr. Winters you may contact him at aaronwinters57@gmail.com. Below are a few examples of his work.
