THE CAMPUS CHRONICLE

Mass Communications holds its annual Meet and Greet

The Mass Communications Department at Alcorn State University (ASU) hosted its annual Meet and Greet in the Simmons Industrial Technology Building in room 215 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, where faculty and staff introduced themselves to the students and discussed the projects being worked upon.

Mass Communications majors were invited to learn about internships, clubs and societies, and opportunities that would garner them practical work experience within the field. Candidates for Miss Mass Communications 2023-2024 also presented their campaign speeches during the meeting.

“Running for Miss Mass Communications has been a great experience. Being able to fellowship with the student body has been nothing short of amazing,” stated Delisha Banks, one of the campaign’s candidates. Ariel Hoskins, another candidate, added, “I am happy with the changes within our Department and I can’t wait to see the finished product.”

Students were informed about a new computer lab and a renovated studio. “I think that with the new upgrades within our Department it will help the students immensely. It will give them even footing with other Mass Communications major throughout the country,” stated Larry Sanders, Assistant Professor of Mass Communications.
