This week in entertainment news, Phife Dawg passes away, Beyonce may have a new album on the way and Joey Bada$$ says he might release two albums in 2016.

First up, Hip-hop mourns the loss of rapper Malik Izaak ‘Phife Dawg’ Taylor of the group A Tribe Called Quest. Born on November 20, 1970 in Queens, New York, Phife Dawg would become a member of one of the most legendary Hip-hop groups in history. The group was comprised of Q-Tip, Ali Shaheed Muhammad, Jarobi White, and Phife Dawg. The New York rapper was just 45 years of age at the time of his death. According to Rolling Stone magazine, Phife is said to have battled a few health issues during his lifetime but his struggle with diabetes caused his untimely death. Our condolences to the family and friends of Malik Izaak ‘Phife Dawg’ Taylor.

Next up, singer Beyonce may have a new album on the way. In 2013  Queen Bey took the world by surprise when she released her self entitled album “Beyonce” which contained a video for every single track on the album. Well rumor has it that she’s back at it again with the new album and her fans should look for an April release date. The rumors first began after Beyonce debuted her new song ‘Formation’ and announced her world tour during her Super Bowl performance. According to the BeyHive, Beyonce’s fan base, Beyonce’s VEVO, although she only has 117 visible videos on her page, the grand total of each category equals to 130 videos, which means that she has videos set to private. If that wasn’t a big enough indication, one of Beyonce’s most accurate fan websites has confirmed that the surprise album is real and is set for an April release and will include a mini-film.

In our final story, rapper Joey Bada$$ says that he might release two albums in 2016. According to the Brooklyn, New York rapper, he has 80 unreleased tracks in his arsenal just waiting to be released. During an interview on DJ Enuff’s ‘Heavy Hitters’ Shade 45 Show Joey said, “I may drop an album this summer. I may drop another one in December.” With the recent release of his two newest tracks ‘Ready’ and ‘Brooklyn’s Own’, his fans are nothing less than ecstatic for the 21-year-old emcee to drop his projects that are yet to receive a title. Bada$$ even revealed that he has been in the studio working with Wyclef Jean and Jerry Wonder with hopes of working with Dr. Dre in the coming months.
