Duplicity

Your words sounded sweet, yet truly rotten,
Your lies blinded me amidst the storm.
The truth I believed, night and day,
Now rests in stories lost within my days.
Only angels could awaken from your veil,
Whispers echoing, making me weep for nights untold.
I now must walk through the ruins of your truth,
Noble feelings turned to bitter salt.
All I hear are lies, aversion, and deceit.
Your name does not rhyme with love or loyalty.
It only rhymes with duplicity and harm.
You will never speak of your delusions
I must be blind to your verses at last
Please set me free from your wicked tongue
