Colman Jason Domingo, who is an actor, writer, and director, was born on November 28th, 1969 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He attended Overbrook High School and later Temple University where he majored in journalism. Soon after, he moved to San Francisco where he started acting in theatre productions.
Domingo received his most notable acclaim for his performance as Mr. Bones in the musical The Scottsborro Boys in 2011. He is known for his other performances such as in the films Lincoln, Selma, If Beale Street Could Talk, and Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.
In 2015, Domingo received a life changing role as he became a regular on AMC’s top rated show, Fear The Walking Dead. In 2020, he signed a first-look deal with AMC Networks to develop future projects. Domingo is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and he is a member of the Director’s Guild of America. He directed an episode of Fear The Walking Dead in Season 4 Episode 12 where he is currently the only member of The Walking Dead Universe to have done so.
Domingo’s most recent film is Candyman where he portrays the character of William Burke who is an intriguing part of the film. Thus far the film worldwide has grossed more than $69.9 million at the box office.
Domingo, who is gay, has been married to Raul Domingo since 2014. The couple reside in Los Angeles, California.
