Daniel Kaluuya was born in London, England to Ugandan immigrants. He attended St. Aloysius College in London where he began his career with a role in BBC’s drama Shoot the Messenger. Kaluuya began much of his writing career as a cast member of Skins where he played Posh Kenneth. In addition to being a staff essayist, he was the head author of the second arrangement scene “Jal” and third arrangement scene “Thomas”. He additionally introduced the Skins Podcast (likewise called Skinscast).
During July 2009, Kaluuya and Jason Lewis released a video of themselves performing their parody of Boy Better Know’s “Too Many Man”. At the end of 2009, the Screen International Magazine picked Kaluuya out in their annual report as a UK Star of Tomorrow. In 2010, he played the lead role in Roy Williams’ Sucker Punch at the Royal Court Theatre in London. In 2011, he starred as Agent Tucker in the film Johnny English Reborn with Rowan Atkinson. Also in 2013, he appeared in the film Kick-Ass 2.
Kaluuya played the essential lead role of Chris Washington in the horror film Get Out, which was released in theaters on February 24, 2017. In December 2016, he was cast in the Marvel Studios movie Black Panther, which will be released in 2018. He has made his mark as being both an actor and writer because of his breakthrough in Skins. Skins is a BAFTA Award-winning British TV arrangement which views the lives of a gathering of young people living in Bristol, as they portray the regular day to day existences of normal teenagers.
Kaluuya has been apart of several theatre, television shows and films. He has appeared in Silent Witness, the Doctor Who special, Planet of the Dead, Lewis, That Mitchell and Webb Look, Harry and Paul, BBC Radio 4 sitcom and Psychoville, Comedy Lab, Watership Down, Babylon and Cass.
Kaluuya is currently single and living in London, England.
