Zoe Isabella Kravitz is an American singer, actress and model born on December 1, 1988. She is the daughter of musician Lenny Kravitz and actress Lisa Bonet. The couple married in 1987 and divorced six years later when Kravitz was five-years-old. Kravitz lived with Bonet in Topanga Canyon and then moved to Miami at age 11 to live with her father. She has two step siblings, Lola and Nakoa-Wolf from her mother’s second marriage to actor Jason Momoa.
Kravitz attended Miami County Day School and Rudolf Steiner School in Manhattan graduating in 2007. After graduation she began working at the acting conservatory at the State University of New York at Purchase. She left school after a year and moved to Brooklyn, New York to work in film. Her first acting role was playing a baby sitter in the 2007 Romantic Comedy, No Reservations. In 2008, she appeared in the family drama Birds of America and the neo noir comedy Assassination of a High School President. Between 2009-2013, Kravitz acted in minimal roles in movies that weren’t well known.
In 2015, she began to get noticed for her acting ability in the comedy-drama Dope and in Mad Max: Fury Road. Kravitz’s first coupling with the DC Universe was in 2017 when she voiced the comic book character Selina Kyle/Catwoman in The Lego Batman Movie. From 2017-2019, she starred in the HBO drama series Big Little Lies where she portrayed Bonnie Carlson. 2019 brought critical acclaim for Kravitz when she was cast in the Hulu Romantic Comedy television series High Fidelity which was loosely based on the 2000 film in which her mother starred in. For the role, she won a Black Reel Award and was nominated for a Satellite Award. Kravitz’s most recent endeavor had her portraying Selina Kyle/Catwoman in the live action film The Batman. The film, thus far, has generated over $700 million at the box office worldwide. Her next endeavor will have her serving as an executive producer on the coming of age animated series Phatty Patty.
Kravitiz currently lives in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
