On Friday, September 2nd, Forty students from Dr. Wandra Arrington’s AE 111 Fundamentals and Concepts of Agriculture class participated in a community service project to help local seniors, ages 65 and up, in the area. The students donated items to the Jefferson County Public Library in Fayette, Mississippi.
The items donated were new and used socks, T-shirts, puzzle books, and clothes which were presented to Shavone Doss, Branch Manager of the Jefferson County Public Library, in Fayette, Mississippi.
The purpose of the Fall class service project was for the Agriculture students to recognize those in need within the local university community and lend them a helping hand.
Dr. Wandra Arrington, Assistant Professor of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness, stated, “This service project empowers our Ag students to learn to help others, show support, and develop a sense of caring for our local community and its people.”
