Alaila Muhammad Wins Miss Junior 2025-2026

On March 21, 2025 in the Game Room of the Student Union Building, Alcorn State University (ASU) announced the winners for the 2025-2026 Royal Court Elections. Alaila Muhammad, an Agribusiness Management major from Memphis, Tennessee won the title of Miss Junior for the 2025-2026 academic school year.

The Miss Junior title represents leadership and dedication amongst the Junior Class. Muhammad’s campaign for Miss Junior is a testament to her commitment to leadership and service within the Alcorn community. Her academic achievements and active involvement on campus made her a strong candidate for this esteemed position.

During her Sophomore year, she ran for the position of Miss Sophomore but was unsuccessful. But that didn’t stop her from being an academic scholar and dedicating her efforts to the Alcorn community. Within that year she became the President of the Agribusiness and Economics Club, Recruitment Chair for SSS, an inductee of Collegiate 100 Women of ASU, Girls Coalition, IMPACT, ASU Choir, and Miss MANRRS (Minorities in Agriculture Natural Resources and Related Sciences). With all of these accomplishments, she remained humble and committed to being a leader for her class.

Muhammad comes from a family where she is the only girl, which led her to pursue her role in leadership and her commitment to excellence. After weeks of dedication, hard work, and unwavering support from her peers, she accomplished her goal of becoming a member of Alcorn’s Royal Court.

Her win is more than just a title, it’s a reflection of hard work, perseverance, and the power of believing in oneself. With a bright future ahead, Muhammad is ready to make her mark, proving that dreams, when pursued with passion, truly do come true.
