ARTIST: N.O.R.E.
ALBUM: Drunk Uncle
RELEASE DATE: March 25, 2016
Returning to the music scene with his seventh solo project entitled “Drunk Uncle”, N.O.R.E. brings an all-star cast to incorporate the future of Hip-Hop while featuring an old school feel. The mixtape comes several months after the artist formerly known as Noreaga announced that his last album will be released in July of 2016.
The twenty-three track project showcases N.O.R.E.’s Puerto Rican heritage, the 90s era of Hip-Hop, as well as a contemporary New York sound. Though there are twenty-three tracks on the project, half are skits and interviews that will most likely be skipped.
Tracks such as ‘Queens’, featuring New York City’s Manolo Rose, ‘Slime Season’, with A$AP Ferg and Sandgram, and ‘Buckets’ featuring French Montana all highlight the album. The track ‘Still Gettin’ It’ featuring Fat Joe, Jadakiss, and Capone is a guaranteed hit about how Original Gangstas (OGs) want to live life and have fun.
The track ‘Moments’ displays the obvious changes in N.O.R.E.’s life. In the track he touches on a recent phone call from Jay Z acknowledging his respect for Jay’s artistry.
“Drunk Uncle” receives 7 stars out of 10 stars.
