Nayvadius Cash, better known as Future, is a 41-year-old artist from Atlanta, Georgia. He is the founder of the record label Freebandz which was founded in September of 2011 with Epic Records. With him being on the Hip Hop scene since 2007 and catching fire in the 2010s, he has been releasing classic music nonstop. His latest album, released on September 20, 2024, and entitled ‘Mixtape Pluto’, is 44 minutes and 51 seconds long with 17 songs included.
Of the 17 songs, there are 4 noticeable hits which are “TOO FAST”, “PLUTOSKI”, “TEFLON DON”, and “LIL DEMON”. This album, with its many nuances, follows the old adage, “If it ain’t broke then don’t fix it” which follows suit to Future’s previous albums which intensified the anticipation for this one.
“TOO FAST” is a very well composed song describing how Future reflects on his issues on spending money to gain his desired love from his partner. He vividly paints a picture of what his habits consist of and how he tries to show love through the form of gift giving with lines referring to very high-end fashion company’s and top market jewelry. He explains how he feels that his love is taken for granted and he regrets, at times, his generous nature. He also expressed his fear of knowing his lover is committing acts of treachery while he is giving his all to show his love for her and help better her life.
“PLUTOSKI”, which is a clear reference to his nickname “Pluto”, is a chill banger to listen to anywhere. When the album released the song, it received a lot of attention due to the uses of it on TikTok and the huge traction of views each video brought to the song. “PLUTOSKI” comes hard with an upbeat tempo and a repetitive hook that any listener is bound to end up repeating once the song has ended.
“TEFLON DON” is the very first song on the album and one of the first songs to receive a music video. Future is no stranger to catching the audience’s attention at the beginning of his albums and “TEFLON DON” doesn’t fall short of his standards. With a spooky sound playing in the background and a heavy bass throughout the song it creates a vibe where you want to listen to it over and over again.
The most memorable song of the 4 is “LIL DEMON”. Since the release of this masterpiece, it’s hard to not find an event that’s not playing it continuously. The song mixes Future’s melodic flow alongside a catchy beat that’s like a pleasurable humming in your ears. Definitely one of Future’s better songs throughout his iconic career.
