Album Review: SOS

SZA is a vibe! This is maybe one thing you’ve heard from a friend. Since ‘Ctrl’ SZA has been at the top of many people’s “chill” playlists and if you give her album ‘SOS’ a listen you shall see what I mean. Her album reflects her journey towards finding self-love and acceptance. According to the album details, it deals with topics pertaining to love and relationships from a more self-assured place.

The first track on the album is titled “SOS”. On this track SZA is putting her special touch on it with her melodic voice and laying down bars. Personally, it was a shock to me to hear her demolish this beat with rhymes so effortlessly. On this track she talks about her ex and speaks her mind to set the mood for the entire album.

Track 4 is personally my favorite track. This upbeat head-bopper is titled “Low” and is a fine
line between R&B and Rap. The layout of her rhythmic scheme is very different and isn’t
being done by most Hip-Hop artist today.

SZA expresses herself throughout the entire album in many ways that most people can relate to who have had or currently have relationship issues. She makes a person who deals with these problems comfortable and is an inspiration to fans all over the world.

SZA’s ‘SOS’ is on all streaming services such as Apple Music, Spotify, etc. I give this album a
9 out of 10. Mr. Dph strongly recommends this album to my viewers and hope you give it a listen.
