Alcorn State University (ASU) held its Spring 2024 commencement exercise on Saturday, May 11th on the Lorman campus at the Davey L. Whitney Complex (New Gym).
This year, the graduation was held at two separate times. At 9:00 am the first ceremony took place which included the Graduate School, College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences, the School of Nursing and the Golden Class. Shortly after the conclusion of the first ceremony the second ceremony took place at 1:00 pm which consisted of the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Business and the School of Education and Psychology. There were 400 graduates who received their Associates, Bachelor’s Master’s and Doctorate degrees.
The keynote speaker for the first ceremony was Dr. Kia Conerway. Dr. Conerway is a consultant, strategist and founding paster of the Church at the Well. The second ceremonies’ keynote speaker was Montell Jordan. Jordan is an author, pastor, Grammy Award winner and a recipient of the 2023 Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award.
