On Wednesday, November 5th, from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm, Student Affairs hosted the Annual Health and Wellness Fair in the Student Union Ballroom at Alcorn State University (ASU).
The Fair’s focus was on individuals’ health, happiness, and overall well-being. Attendees could get free health screenings, receive fitness and nutrition tips, win prizes, and meet local community partners. The event consisted of clinics, Nursing departments from colleges in Mississippi, including Alcorn’s very own, and other groups affiliated with the University. The importance of the Health and Wellness Fair is “crucial to every person on and off campus that attends this event. Everyone should know if their mental and physical health are at peak operating capacity,” stated Tiyanna Rollins, Senior Nursing Major.
Khanya McGloson, a Junior Elementary Education major, stated, “I look forward to this event every year. It is a tremendous event that helps faculty, staff and students.”
