Alcorn Ranked Among Best in the Country

Alcorn State University (ASU) has been named as the third best college in Mississippi for 2026 according to Niche. Alcorn was also listed as the 2nd best Historically Black College and University (HBCU) in America receiving a grade of A-.

According to its website, ‘Niche.com is an online platform specializing in education and residential research, providing in-depth profiles, data, rankings, and reviews for K-12 schools, colleges, neighborhoods, and companies across the U.S. It helps users, particularly students and families, evaluate and find the best fit for their needs.’ To determine these rankings the site uses factors such as diversity, value, academics, campus activities, etc.

The rankings for Best College in Mississippi 2026 went as follows: 1) The University of Mississippi 2) Mississippi State University 3) Alcorn State University 4) William Carey University 5) The University of Southern Mississippi 6) Mississippi College 7) Millsaps College 8) Mississippi University for Women 9) Belhaven University 10) Delta State University

The Top 5 Ranking for Best HBCU in America 2026 went as follows: 1) Florida A&M University 2) Alcorn State University 3) Spelman College 4) Howard University 5) Morehouse College
