WHY DID YOU CHOOSE ALCORN?

I chose Alcorn because I visited campus a lot while in high school. I was in the band at Heidelberg High School and we had close connections to Alcorn. Our band directors were alumni of Alcorn and I also had family members (aunts and cousins) that attended there. It felt like home.Ā

WHAT ORGANIZATIONS WERE YOU A PART OF?Ā

Student Government Association and Student Ambassadors

HOW HAS ALCORN HELPED PREPARE YOU FOR YOUR CAREER?Ā

Alcorn prepared me to be resilient in all things I encountered. I learned networking skills that could help me maneuver through any career paths. Alcorn was the bridge between childhood and adulthood.

WHAT IS SOMETHING THAT YOU ENJOYED MOST ABOUT ALCORN?Ā

I enjoyed the family-oriented atmosphere. I appreciated being more than just a student to the professors. I enjoyed the connections I was able to build with students, faculty and staff. I mostly enjoyed having my own radio show, ‘The Queen B Show’, which aired every Tuesday night at 7:00 pm on WPRL 91.7 FM (Alcorn’s radio station).Ā

DO YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE FOR CURRENT OR FUTURE STUDENTS ON ‘THE YARD’?

Be intentional with everything that you do. Have fun and enjoy your time but always remember your morals and standards while doing so. GO BRAVES!
