Dua Lipa is an English singer and songwriter. Lipa’s musical career began back in 2013, when she signed a contract with Tap Management. In August 2015, she released her first single “New Love”, produced by Emile Haynie and Andrew Wyatt. Her second single, “Be the One”, was issued in October 2015 and was very successful in Europe reaching number one in Belgium, Poland and Slovakia, as well as charting within the Top Ten in over eleven European territories. The song also reached mainstream success in Australia and New Zealand, reaching numbers 6 and 20 respectively on their charts.
Later in 2016, Lipa released her third, fourth, and fifth singles “Last Dance”, “Hotter than H—“, and “Blow Your Mind (Mwah)”. “Blow Your Mind (Mwah)” a chart hit, peaked at number 30 in the UK. It became the singer’s first entry on the US Billboard Hot 100, debuting at number 72. The song also topped the Billboard Dance Club Song’s chart and reached number 23 on the Billboard Mainstream Top 40 chart.
Lipa’s self-titled debut studio album was released on June 2nd, 2017. Its sixth single, “New Rules”, released the following month became Lipa’s first number one in the UK, and the first song by a female solo artist to reach the top in the UK since Adele’s “Hello” in 2015. Her best-selling single to date, the song also charted in the Top Ten of other countries, including number two in Australia, number six in the US, and number seven in Canada.
Dua’s second studio album, ‘Future Nostalgia’, was released on March 27th, 2020 and was a huge success which included 13 tracks including 4 singles, “Don’t Start Now”, “Physical”, “Break My Heart”, and “Hallucinate”. All four singles were mainstream successes charting on the Billboard Charts in the US and the UK.
Over her career, Lipa has released a total of two albums and has won multiple awards in both the US and the UK. Her music is available on all major music streaming platforms.
