It’s that time of year again where the seasons change along with the former Student Government Association’s (SGA) elected officials. On March 18 – 22, 2019 the hopeful candidates campaigned to become the newest representatives for Alcorn State University’s SGA for the 2019-2020 academic year.
Voting for the prospective candidates began on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at the Student Union in the Multipurpose Room from 9:00 am through 5:00 pm. The candidates were informed that if any candidate didn’t receive 50 percent of the vote, there would be a run off on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at the Student Union in the Multipurpose Room from 9:00 am through 5:00 pm. As a result, there was a runoff for the Miss Senior position between Erin Cannon and Zoria Nicholson upon which Cannon won.
