Alcorn Presents Spring 2025 Career Fair

On Thursday, April 3rd, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm Alcorn State University (ASU) hosted its Spring 2025 Career Fair in the Dr. Rudolph Waters Classroom Building (Business Building) to give students a chance to meet with different companies and universities offering graduate school and job opportunities.

Some universities and corporations that attended the event were William Carey, Xavier University of Louisiana, The University of Tennessee, Mississippi State, Mississippi College School of Law, Hattiesburg Public Schools, Starkville Oktibbeha School District, Concordia Parish School Board, Cargill, Jackson Police Department, Louisiana State Police, Texas Highway Patrol, and the Mississippi Department of Transportaion (MDOT).

Michael Harper, Director for Career Services and Pre-Professional Programs at Alcorn, stated, “It is important for students to attend because for this particular Career Fair we have about 50 employers from all over the state of Mississippi, Texas, and Tennessee.” He added, “It gives them the opportunity to have conversations with these employers upfront and personal to inquire about jobs and internships.”

Junior Business Administration major, Damien Jones, stated, “I really enjoyed it (Spring Career Fair). I had a lot of opportunities to meet new people and make connections. It’s good for students to come every year to get internships and to figure out their career.”
