Alcorn State University (ASU) held its annual BraveFest Week between Sunday, April 13th, through Wednesday, April 16th. This year’s events were hosted by Alcorn’s Student Government Association (SGA), Alcorn’s Campus Activity Board (CAB) and the Royal Court.
BraveFest week offered students career opportunities, support of small businesses, and fun activities.
The events kicked off on Sunday, April 13th, with the Artist Reveal Party from 9:00 pm to 10:30 pm in the James L. Bolden Student Campus Union.
On Monday, April 14th , ASU hosted Skate Night from 7:30 pm to 11:00 pm in the E.E. Simmons Gymnasium.
On Tuesday, April 15th at 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, the Carnival Extravaganza took place along the Campus Green. Students were able to experience different food trucks to enjoy good food and fun.
On Wednesday, April 16th from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, Club Café took effect in the Clinton Bristow Jr. Dining Hall but with a twist. Students were to come to cafe to eat and dress up in their best outfits.
The most anticipated event, the Bravechella Concert, took place later that night in the Davey L. Whitney Complex (New Gym) from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. The concert featured local artists Squirt and Lil Bailey, who opened for the headliners, Teezy, Jeremiah and Big Boogie. The concert was free of charge for students, faculty, and staff.
