Don’t Swim In The Sea

breath
you can’t once
you’re beneath
can’t i?
can i?
or they or not
remember you’re the kettle
and them the pot
the oceans rising
making me feel small
trying to remember
nothing really
matters at all
my nice single warm dorm room
is the place to be
only place where
i don’t have
to swim in the sea
can’t i?
can i?
are they or not
my voice is shaky
it’s getting hot
the reflection i saw
in the water
at swim lessons
frightened me so much
i only attended
2 sessions
the rescue boat
wasn’t enough to
keep me afloat
the deeper i go
the further i’ll be
i wish, i pray, and i hope
i can be free from the sea
