On Wednesday, October 26th, WPRL 91.7 FM’s own Myrtle Hedrick was honored for her tirelessly work throughout the School of Arts and Sciences at Alcorn State University (ASU).
Hedrick, who has worked at the ASU for 11 years, has held many roles at its radio station such as Administrative Assistant, Producer of radio shows, Disc Jockey, and On Air Commentator/Reporter. “I really do it all down here at the radio station and I love every minute of it. I love helping people because it’s what I do. I enjoy the students who visit the station because they keep me spry.”
Recognizing Hedrick was Dr. Babu Patlolla, Dean of Arts and Sciences and Hortense Williams, Administrative Assistant of Arts and Sciences. The two presented Hedrick with a ‘Gratification Gift Pack’ for her dedication and service to Alcorn. Williams stated, “Ms. Hedrick goes above and beyond her job description to not only assist WPRL in its needs but other Departments around the University as well.”
“This was indeed an honor and a privilege to be recognized like this. It fills my heart with a sense of gratitude to know that I’m helping individuals around the campus,” stated Hedrick.
