They say, “The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree”, but why is that people love to degrade my generation? Why is it that people give up on my generation? Why is that people put a label on my generation? But when we do something positive, why is it that my generation never gets noticed? Why is it ok for you people to talk about my generation like we’re some garbage? Why is it ok for you people to have this nasty attitude once you see my generation? Why is it ok for you people to make this world harder for us than it already is?
These are the questions that my generation has when we smoke, these are the questions my that generation has when we do drugs, these are the questions that my generation has when we have multiple sex partners, these are the questions that my generation has when we curse like sailors, these are the questions that my generation has when we’re going to jail and these are the questions that my generation has when we feel alone.
My generation is tired of the judging, my generation is tired of being called ignorant, and my generation is tired of hearing how much of an embarrassment we are. Yes, my generation does foolish things, yes, my generation makes mistakes and yes, my generation is very disrespectful. The people who belittle my generation, it’s not our fault that we will get lost in the world. It’s not our fault that we have horrible habits and it’s not our fault we can’t be the perfect image you people want us to be.
We are lost children that are trying to find light in all this madness. So the “people” I am addressing are anyone who has anything negative to say about my generation. “You can’t expect to be old and wise if you were never young and crazy.”
