Should there be another lockdown?

Ever since the big outbreak of Covid-19, many people have been affected by it. According to https://www.cbsnews.com/feature/coronavirus/ a new variant has been spreading rapidly throughout the world. The real question is, should there be another lockdown?

Some people think we should while others think we shouldn’t be on lockdown. Everyone is aware that Covid-19 is highly contagious. Any type of close contact can cause someone to catch this potentially deadly virus.

According to https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2023/07/08/world/extreme-global-temperature-heat-records-climate/index.html 2023 could be the hottest year on record. Due to the heat index, this causes Covid to spread rapidly. It has been extremely hot this Summer which has led many people to not wearing face masks anymore. Masks are deterrents to keeping the virus at bay.

Depression, isolation, and health issues are reasons that I believe that we shouldn’t be on another lockdown. The first lockdown caused many people to become depressed because they thought their lives were going to be like that for an exorbitant amount of time. Sitting in the house all day with nothing to do or no place to go led people to feeling isolated. A lot of people didn’t know whether it was safe or not to go anywhere. Besides Covid, it was harder for people to manage their lifestyle and personal health issues such as Diabetes, Hypertension, etc.

Staying financially stable was yet another hardship of Covid and the lockdown. Some jobs were completely shut down and others became extremely short-staffed. Some people mainly survived the virus by using their Social Security and 401k checks.

In my opinion, I think we shouldn’t have another lockdown. A lot of people, including myself, will not be able to abide by the stringent struggles which will manifest itself by having another one. Wearing masks consistently and social distancing is the only option.
