The T.R.E.N.D. Modeling Squad Presents ‘Street Couture’

The T.R.E.N.D. Modeling Squad had their first show of the year at the E.E. Simmons Gymnasium on Wednesday, March 24th at 7:00 pm with the theme being ‘Street Couture’.

The DJ for the night was DJ Ghost and the MCs were Olecia James and Dennis Stevenson. The makeup artist on standby for the event was ‘Makeup Messiah’. The show featured three designers, Courtney Alexian, Kelton Robinson, and Big Marvo. It also featured some of the model’s own creative outfits.

The opening scene had the models in all black walking to Nipsey Hussle’s song “Victory Lap”. The next scene was by Courtney Alexian and her brand Divaz Divine. Each of her models had on a piece from her collection starting from wide legged pants, colorful jumpsuits, denim jackets and pants and jogger pants and bralette sets.

Next in the show was Trap Fashion by Kelton Robinson. His colorful, quality track suits, rain jackets, sweat pants and hoodies brought attention to the crowd as the models showed off his new unisex clothing line.

The intermission gave some audience members a chance to walk on the runway to showcase their creativity. Jackson State University’s fashion squad, Insatiable Models, attended the event to show their support and skills on the runway as well.

The final designer was Big Marvo. His style consisted of taking something that is modern and making it into his own. He featured animal print and solid colors. Marvo’s clothes have been worn by reality television stars, The Clermont Twins.

The final scene of the night was of the models bringing out their own style of dress to display what ‘Street Couture’ meant to them.
