THE BENJAMIN A. GILMAN INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP WORKSHOPS

On Friday, September 16, 2016 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm and Friday, September 23, 2016 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm in the Multicultural and International Affairs Building Conference Room The Alcorn State University Office of Global Programs will present The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Workshops. The Workshops will give information about the Gilman scholarship for Study Abroad Spring 2017 and how to apply for it.

FOUNDER’S DAY CONVOCATION

On Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at 10:00 am at the Oakland Memorial Chapel Alcorn will have its annual 2016 Founder’s Day Celebration. The theme for this year’s event will be “Celebrating 145 Years of Excellence”.

FALL VEGETABLES FIELD DAY

On Thursday, September 22, 2016 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm at 294 Grainger Dorsey Road in Mound Bayou, Mississippi the Alcorn State University Extension/Research Farm and Technology Transfer Center will host the annual Fall Vegetables Field Day. Registration will be from 8:00 am to 9:00 am. The theme for this year’s event will be “Enhancing Farm Income Through the Adoption of Alternative Enterprises”.

FARM RECORD-KEEPING WORKSHOPS

On Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at 5:30 pm at the Community House on 300 Pecan Street in Marks, Mississippi and on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm at the Alcorn State University Extension/Research Farm and Technology Transfer Center on 294 Grainger Dorsey Road in Mound Bayou, Mississippi Alcorn State University will be hosting two Farm Record-Keeping Workshops.

CERTIFICATION FOR ARTIFICIAL INSEMINATION (AI)

On Thursday, September 29, 2016 – Saturday, October 1, 2016 from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Alcorn State University Dairy/Ray Johnson Assembly Center Alcorn State University is proud to offer a complete and hands-on bovine A.I. class. You can increase your operation’s profitability and efficiency by learning the skills and techniques of A.I. The cost is $50 and there will be a 10 participant limit.
