Why are People Against Holistic Treatment?

People are so against holistic treatments and living a natural lifestyle to maintain a supreme level of health. Why? Society is trained to naturally go to a physician and get prescribed an over-the-counter medicine to treat whatever illness they are dealing with. Maybe the push back comes from people’s inability to maintain healthy lifestyles and exercise the discipline of having a healthy diet and consistently working out. It takes a different level of commitment to live a natural lifestyle to obtain supreme healthiness which most people are not looking to do when the easier alternative is to go get pharmaceuticals for an easy fix. Doctors will be the last group of people to promote natural remedies for illnesses because it would decrease people’s need to actually go to them if they knew it was a natural way to cure or treat something.

According to www.irishtimes.com, “The majority of medical doctors are quite dismissive of alternative medicine, and many doctors are positively hostile towards it. Doctors say publicly that this is because there is no scientific proof that alternative medicine actually works. This is a smokescreen. The real reasons doctors are so against alternative medicine is much deeper. They are scared of alternative medicine because they feel deeply threatened by it. Doctors have spent years of their lives studying and working within the modern medical health system. They feel entitled to reap the financial and other rewards which go with being a medical doctor.”

The rise of COVID-19 has really shown people’s true colors about holistic treatments. Since the arrival of the vaccine, people have jumped at the first chance to receive the shot. With it being a proven fact that the vaccine does not absolve an individual from getting the virus it only helps minimize the symptoms of the virus, there are many other natural ways to do the same thing the vaccine does. There are natural ways to boost the immune system such as instituting ginger and lemon shots into your diet, cardio, which keeps up the maintenance of the lungs, and also avoiding foods that can weaken the immune system such as processed and charred meats. Exercise is a big factor in keeping a well-functioning health system.

According to www.health.harvard.edu, “Regular exercise is one of the pillars of healthy living. It improves cardiovascular health, lowers blood pressure, helps control body weight, and protects against a variety of diseases. But does it help to boost your immune system naturally and keep it healthy? Just like a healthy diet, exercise can contribute to general good health and therefore to a healthy immune system.” People have the option of being active and staying conscience of what they are putting in their body to stay healthy, but most take the lazier route by sticking to prescription drugs that most of the time comes with a side effect that will cause them to get another medication.
