Actor’s Spotlight: Bill Skarsgard

Bill Skarsgard, 27, is a Swedish actor and model born and raised in Vällingby, Sweden on August 9, 1990. He is the son of very well-known actor, Stellan Skarsgard and Sonya Marie Agnes. Skarsgard  has 7 siblings who are all actors. He began his career when he appeared with Emil Forselius and Josephine Bornebusch in the Swedish thriller White Water Fury at age 10. After finding success in his early acting career, Skarsgard went along with his brothers to pursue a career as an actor in America.

When Skarsgard moved to America, he would gain more small roles in TV shows such as Laura Trenter-Dad, the Policeman. He was nominated for a Guldbagge Award in 2011 for playing the lead role as Simon in Simple Simon. Skarsgard was then able to win his first award in 2012 which was the European Film Academy’s Shooting Stars Award. He was a lead in multiple TV shows such as Hemlock Grove (2013-2015) and the upcoming Castle Rock. He also starred in Victoria, The Divergent Series: Allegiant, Atomic Blonde and It. In the movie It, Skarsgard stars as Pennywise, the dancing clown. The movie has givin him the most recognition of his career since it has been labeled as the top horror film of all time, grossing over $300 million worldwide. He has two upcoming films, Alteration (2017) and Assassination Nation (2018) which are expected to be blockbusters.

Skarsgard currently resides in Los Angeles, California with his brothers.
