Actor’s Spotlight: Brad Pitt

William Bradley Pitt, also known as Brad Pitt, was born on December 18, 1963 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Pitt is one of the most recognized faces in Hollywood, being a hard working actor and film producer in the business. He received his education from Kickapoo High School and has been acting since 1987. He first gained recognition as a cowboy hitchhiker in the road movie Thelma and Louise in 1991. After gaining many leading roles in big budget productions in later years, it finally led to him earning a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor and an Academy Award nomination.

In 1999, Pitt starred in the cult film Fight Club and the heist film franchise Ocean’s Eleven which led to him being involved in two sequels. In 2001, he started his own production company called Plan B Entertainment. He received his greatest commercial successes in films such as Troy, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, World War Z, and his most recent film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Pitt received his second and third Academy Award nominations for his leading performances in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button in 2008 and Moneyball in 2011. As far as films that he has produced, both The Departed and 12 Years a Slave won the Academy Award for Best Picture.

With plenty of Oscar buzz going around about his performance in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, it’s more than likely he will add yet another nomination to his resume.
