Jacob Scipio was born on January 10, 1993 in Islington, London, United Kingdom. Scipio is of English and Guyanese descent. He attended St. Michael’s Church of England Primary School in Highgate, continued his studies at Fortismere School in Muswell Hill, then completed his education at the University of Essex where he was awarded a Bachelor of Arts in Film and Literature. He has continued to act in a number of leading roles in television, film, awareness campaigns, and theatre.
In 2008, Scipio starred in As the Bell Rings, he was the host of the children’s game show Kerwhizz, and he did a short film production entitled, Undefeated. In 2013, Scipio starred in the hit BBC Three comedy Some Girls, CBBC’s Dixi, and Dani’s Castle in 2014. In 2015, he did voice work for the British version of the series Bob the Builder, he voiced commercials for brands such as Coca-Cola, 7UP, Snickers, Mars, Toyota and he was the voice of the SYFY channel. In 2016, Scipio co-founded CPO Productions, wrote and starred in films such as 2016’s Cowboys and Angels, 2018’s The Writers Group, and did short films that premiered at the Cannes Court Metrage, and had London screenings at the British Film Institute.
In 2020, he is most notably known for playing the role of Armando Armas in the Bad Boys for Life film.
