Sean Michael Leonard Anderson, better known as “Big Sean” was born on March 25, 1988 in Santa Monica, California to Myra and James Anderson. At 3 months, Sean and his family moved to Detroit, Michigan, where his mother (school teacher) and grandmother raised him. Big Sean attended Detroit Waldorf School and graduated with a 3.7 GPA from Cass Technical High School. During high school, he gained a relationship with Detroit Hip-Hop station WHTD and weekly he’d participate in a rap battle contest held by the station. In 2005, Big Sean heard about Kanye West doing a radio interview at 102.7, so he headed to the station to meet and freestyle for him. He left his demo tape with West and two years later, Big Sean was signed to GOOD Music.
He released his debut mixtape in 2007 entitled ‘Finally Famous, Vol. 1’ following with ‘Finally Famous, Vol. 2’ in 2009 and ‘Finally Famous, Vol. 3’ in 2010. In 2011, Big Sean put out his first official album ‘Final Famous,’ featuring the hot single “My Last” featuring Chris Brown. The album debuted at # 3 on the Billboard 200. After that album, Sean released a total of four albums, ‘Hall of Fame,’ ‘Dark Sky Paradise,’ ‘TWENTY88’ and ‘I decided.’ Fast forwarding to today, Big Sean dropped a combined tape ‘Double or Nothing’ with bigtime producer Metro Boomin at the end of 2017. Currently, he’s dating R&B singer Jhené Aiko and lives in Beverly Hills.
Leland Tyler “Metro Boomin” Wayne was born on September 16, 1993 in St. Louis, Missouri. After briefly playing the bass guitar in his middle school band at 13 in the seventh grade Metro turned to making beats. He attended Parkway North High School and made 5 beats a day. His rapping skills are what made him make beats because beats were way too costly. Eventually, he made a decision to fully pursue Hip Hop production. During high school his mom would drive 8 hours to Atlanta, Georgia so he could collaborate with artists that he met online. The first artists he worked with was Bricksquad Monopoly rapper Tay Don which then led him to collaborate with Bricksquad label artists such as OJ Da Juiceman, Gucci Mane and eventually his frequent collaborator Future, an artist that he continues to collaborate with to this day. After graduating high school, Metro Boomin moved to Atlanta to attend Morehouse College, studying Business Management. However, he chose to take a hiatus from school after a semester because his schedule demanded a full-time music career and it became too much to balance. Metro has collaborated with artists including Gucci Mane, Nicki Minaj, Ludacris, Future, Juicy J, Yo Gotti, 21 Savage, Wiz Khalifa, Chief Keef, The Weeknd, YG, Young Jeezy, Meek Mill, Travis Scott, Ace Hood, S.A.M., Young Scooter, Young Thug, Rich Homie Quan, Trinidad James, Drake, Lana Del Rey, Lil Uzi Vert, Migos, DJ Khaled, ScHoolboy Q and Lil Wayne. Metro also regularly collaborates with other modern Hip Hop producers, including Sonny Digital, TM88, Southside, Zaytoven, Young Chop, and DJ Spinz. Currently, he resides in Atlanta, Georgia.
